Services Provided:

  • Providing medications that are procured in compliance with the standards set by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
  • Supporting safe and effective medication use for patients during patient stay.
  • Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary teamwork to promote high-quality patient care through organisational learning, clinical audit, and continuous service improvement.

How Patients Can Support the Pharmacy Team

Patients can assist the Pharmacy Department in delivering safe and effective care by:

  • Bringing an up-to-date list of all current medications to assist in compiling a Best Possible Medication History (BPMH).
  • Bringing any medications prescribed or initiated by a hospital consultant, including “High Tech” medications.
  • Providing the name and contact details of their regular community pharmacy, to support communication and continuity of care following discharge.
  • Informing pharmacy or nursing staff if their medications are usually supplied in pre-packed blister packs.

Medical

Our medical department – comprising Consultants and Non-Consultant Hospital Doctors (NCHDs), provide evidence-based, person-centred medical care for each stage of rehabilitation. Our Medical Consultants are responsible for the overall treatment and coordination of each patient’s rehabilitation care.

Nursing

Our Nursing team provides round-the-clock care and support through every stage of rehabilitation.

Physiotherapy

Our Physiotherapists work with patients affected by injury, illness or disability to restore movement, promote independence and rebuild strength through exercise.

Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational Therapists (OTs) work with patients to rebuild confidence and independence in their everyday activities, supporting patients to go home safely and to return to previous roles including work.

Medical Social Work

Medical Social Workers support patients and families during rehabilitation by addressing the social, emotional and practical challenges that may arise.

Nutrition & Dietetics

Our Nutrition and Dietetic team deliver evidence-based nutritional assessment and individualised dietary care plans to optimise healing, enhance recovery, and help patients regain strength and functional outcomes.

Speech & Language Therapy

Our Speech & Language Therapists support patients living with communication, speech, voice, eating and/or swallowing difficulties

X-Ray

Our X-ray Department offers a general imaging service for all inpatients, and a GP outpatient service for adults, by appointment only.
