Appointments

Inpatients:
If you require a plain X-ray while you are an inpatient this will be carried out in the X Ray Department.

Outpatient GP appointments:
If you require an outpatient GP appointment, we must receive a referral from your GP in either of the following ways:

  1. The GP can send the referral in via email to xray@ioh.ie
  2. The referral can be posted in to the X-ray department at Clontarf Hospital, Blackheath park, Clontarf, Dublin 3, D03AY95
  3. Leaving the referral letter at the hospital reception.

Results:

The X-ray images will be interpreted by a consultant radiologist and a report will be issued to the referring doctor. The X-ray images and report are stored on the National Integrated Medical Imaging System (NIMIS)

Note for all women of childbearing age:

Females within the age range of 12-55 years may be asked to complete a pregnancy status declaration form, indicating pregnancy status and last menstrual period (LMP), when having an X-ray between the diaphragm and symphysis pubis. If you have any doubt about your pregnancy status contact your GP.
